FAQ

On the border run, can I use use a new passport I received from my host country’s embassy/consulate in Thailand?

Yes but you will need an official letter from your embassy/consulate that explains you have been issued a new passport. This letter typically notes the previous passport number as well as the existing Thailand visa number. If your embassy/consulate returned your old passport to you (rendered inactive), please bring this with you as well if possible. There is an additional 100 THB fee to accommodate this extra service.

If I am out of blank pages on my passport, can I still go on the border run?

Yes – We can organize this with our Cambodian staff officials (for an additional fee of 500 THB).

Can I travel to Cambodia on my own and have Bangkok Buddy handle my tourist visa application?

Yes – Our staff can collect your passport in Poipet or in Phnom Penh and return it with your new visa once completed. This process takes 3 days.

When is the 60-day tourist visa trip?

Those obtaining a 60-day visa will take the Sunday departure with us, stay in Poipet for 3 nights and return on the Wednesday trip back to Bangkok. All 60-day Thai tourist visas are single-entry and extendable for another 30 days if desired. The 30-day extension must be done in person at a local Thailand Immigration office for a fee of 1,900 THB.

What is the border run schedule?

We operate the border run service 3 days per week (Sundays, Wednesdays & Fridays). On the operation days, we depart at 5:00a and return approximately at 2:30p (accommodating 5 drop-off locations). The official holidays are Songkran (Apr 13 – Apr 15) and New Year (Dec 31 – Jan 02).

Does your border run use a bus or mini-van?

Currently we use large luxury VIP vans for our Thai border runs. They hold 10 people comfortably, have large leather seats suitable for large adults and do not play music or movies so that the passengers can relax during the ride.
